The Humane Society of Indianapolis (HSI) is excited to announce the 2nd annual Mutt Strut Poster Pooch Contest and 1st annual Poster Pooch Calendar. In this contest individuals are given the opportunity to enter a photo of their pooch and community members can vote for their favorite pooch. The top dog with the most votes then becomes the face of the next Mutt Strut.

In 2009 the Mutt Strut Poster Pooch contest raised more than $26,000 in less than 2 1/2 months to help support the hundreds of animals HSI cares for daily. More than 280 pooches competed to earn their picture on various Mutt Strut 2010 marketing pieces including t-shirts, posters, and brochures.

Junior earned more than 2,800 votes to receive the title of the 2010 Mutt Strut Poster Pooch during the 2009 contest. To learn more about Junior, click here!

The Mutt Strut 2011 Poster Pooch Contest will kick off this year on Sunday, April 25 and run through Friday, July 9. Individuals may enter their pooch for a $5 registration fee and then community members have the opportunity to vote on their favorite dog for a minimum of $1 per vote (minimum of 5 votes). The top 12 pooches will then be selected to have their picture taken for the Mutt Strut 2011 Poster Pooch Calendar with the first place pooch being honored with their face on t-shirts, posters, brochures and more.
