Who’s this furry friend? Lepa, our Top Dog! Lepa’s mom Wendy was the top individual fundraiser at Mutt Strut 2011, collecting more than $7,000 to help the animals at IndyHumane.
Lepa (her name means “beautiful” in Slovakian) was born in California in August 1998, and was adopted into Wendy’s family on Halloween of 1998. When her family moved to Indiana, Lepa traded her sunny rays for the unpredictable Indiana weather too. But, that’s not all bad, Lepa LOVES to play in the snow! As a woolly-coated husky, she’s naturally adapted to cold.
When she’s not acting as our “Ambassa-dog” and encouraging people to donate to IndyHumane, she loves to go fishing with her family. While she’s out on the boat, she sometimes gets so excited about fishing that she’ll lick the day’s catch!
If you want your dog to be the Mutt Strut 2013 Top Dog, you need to be our top individual fundraiser! (To be eligible, individuals need to raise a minimum of $5,000)
All you need to do to get started is register for Mutt Strut and begin fundraising! Ask your friends, family and coworkers to donate early and often so that your pooch can become the Face of Mutt Strut in 2013! Log in to the participant center to create your personal fundraising page, easily send donation requests by e-mail, and be sure to check out our other easy fundraising tips.
Prizes: The individual who raises more money than anyone else for Mutt Strut will get to have his/her dog become the “Top Dog” for Mutt Strut 2013. What does this mean?
Your canine will be the official Mutt Strut 2013 Ambassadog, appearing as a Grand Marshall in the Mutt Strut 2013 opening ceremonies, joining other celebrities in leading the parade lap in an official pace car, and enjoy a VIP experience throughout the day.
You will receive an Invitation to join IndyHumane in Mari Hulman George’s suite during the month of May in 2012..
You and your pooch with have the opportunity to participate in any pre-event appearances that may come up. (This may include but is not limited to media appearances, photo ops and interviews, attendance at IndyHumane fundraising events, etc.)
You and your pooch will receive a Mutt Strut 2013 “Top Dog” Trophy, presented by Harrison College!
